I got a job! I am the new photo and video coordinator at Farm Sanctuary's headquarters in New York. It's really a dream job - I get to work with photos and videos all day for a cause I am incredibly passionate about. I really couldn't be happier. All it took was a little patience and a chance discovery of an open position. So I've moved from Ohio to a really great town surrounded by mountains in New York and have been here for about a week now.

I'm trying to find more time to get some more photos up here too. I just put a bunch on the computer from the St. Augustine Humane Society series from my b/w traditional photography course in college, so those should be up any day now. And of course I'll post links to any photos I take at Farm Sanctuary that end up on their website!

It flies, yeah? It would appear I've abandoned this poor gallery, but I do check in every once in a while. It's always nice to see a few comments and favorites still trickling in, so thank you to those who still manage to find and appreciate my photos

Life has been changing a little bit. I graduated from college in April (woo!) with a BA in Communication. Left mostly beautiful and sometimes aggravating St. Augustine, FL and came back to sometimes beautiful and mostly aggravating Youngstown, Ohio. Like most recent college graduates, I'm having trouble finding a decent job. My dream is to get out to Portland, Oregon, but any new location will do. I just want to venture out to new places. So we'll see how that goes.

I really need to come in here and start organizing a little bit. It's funny, I look back to some of the first photos I put up here back in 2005 when I started, and I'm like, "What was I thinking?" I only took two photo classes in college (one traditional, one digital) but I can really see how much I've improved since then, and a lot of the early photos on here make me wince a little. I wish I could go back to some of the places and situations and take the photos over again. Needless to say, I think it's time quite a few got moved over to the scraps section

Besides that, I have quite a few new photos that I'd like to put up. Maybe I actually will one day.

I haven't been too active here lately, but I just went through all the wonderful art from my watched list ... you guys are all so great Keep 'em coming!

I'm back in St. Augustine and classes start tomorrow. I'm taking Photojournalism, so I'm really hoping for some great photos that I can scan and put up here. It's all darkroom work, which I'm really excited about because 1)next semester the school is going all digital so I get the last go around of the darkroom here before they get rid of it and 2)I've always been exclusively digital and this will be a great experience for me. I mean, for real, how can you call yourself a photographer without ever developing your own photos?

So I noticed my last entry was from JANUARY and thought I should update, even though not much is going on.

I'm back home from college again and fixing the house up to hopefully sell it sometime in September. There's this really great photo contest coming up with a grand prize of $20,000 / a new, awesome digital photography-packaged Dell laptop / a really nice photo printer / and a brand new digital Canon SLR camera up for grabs. I was planning on going out and taking some new photos for it (you can submit three) but I dislocated my knee on Friday and so I'm pretty much out of commission for awhile. So I'll be submitting some old ones. Anyone have any suggestions?

Anyway, that's about all that's new for me. Boring, I know. But thanks for still checking this out, even though I haven't done anything in f o r e v e r . When my knee gets better, expect some new stuff. Promise.

In other news, I'm back in Florida with one day of classes under my belt. I think a rough semester is coming my way. I'm kind of excited about my mass media production class because our first assignment is to create a visual story using 12 photos. I think I'm going to go down to the Humane Society here and either document an adoption or maybe just what happens during a day there. If anything comes out nice, I'll put it on here.
